International Repair Cafe Week

Hello dears!

Some of you may have heard, some don’t of the Repair Cafe concept, the place where people meet trying to repair, recycle, repurpose things in order to reduce consumption and waste. There are places like this in many cities around the world and people have good time together, learning new things and skills and getting back home with an item ready to use, and which they no longer have to throw away.

Happily there is something like this in my city, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Generous and devoted people like Dan, Adela, Ovidiu and all the volunteers and supporters around them are trying to give this opportunity to our local community.

This week was the celebration of International Repair Cafe Week and many interesting events were happening relating to this subject. Here you can find the detailed programme of Repair Cafe Cluj Week.

Among them, there is an upcycling evening, this evening, 21st October, in a nice downtown cafe, Doamna T, (no10 Napoca Str.), where I was invited, along with other tallented craftsmen, to try to make new thinhs from old yarns, clothes, papers etc. You can bring with you any old “rubbish” that you have, old T-shirts, scarves, yarns, papers, whatever you think will fit.

For my demonstration you don’t need to bring anything as I will provide all the necessary but, in case you have some paper that you like and want to try something with it, don’t hesitate! Also, if you have old, broken jewelry that you still love and don’t want to lose it, bring it here and I’ll try to save it for you.

So, I gladly invite you to join us on this adventure! It will be great fun I can assure you!

I’ll come back later with some pictures.

As I expected, lovely people, warm atmosphere, good tea and cookies and great enthusiasm for rolling paper 🙂

Thank you all for coming and making this a wonderful evening!

Boho Summer in the Air

Hello everybody!

After a too long and groundless absence, here I am again with a brand new and fresh Summer collection to inspire you and to add to your joy of living.

Wear it in the sunshine on the beach, wear it in the evening breeze on the shore,  wear it around your neck or wrist, play with it, make it your own personal delight.

The paper beads are varnished so they do resist in contact with water but it’s reccomended to keep it away of shower or something like this, to enjoy it longer.

The thread is waxed cotton, very resistant as well.

I combined the paper beads with sea shells, sea stones, wooden beads and, some metal beads, here and there 🙂

Have fun with it!!! 😀

Love!!!

With love, to all of you Goddess around the world!

“Who is a Goddess ?

A woman who is in the process of learning to know, accept and love herself on all levels: mind, body and soul.

A woman who, because she focuses on personal growth and self awareness, experiences a life, increasingly filled with peace, love, joy, passion and fun.

A woman that understands that she has unlimited capacity to make her life anything she wants.

A woman who is inspired to give to those around her because of her sense of gratitude and abundance. ” (SavantFouMoi)

Indian Summer earrings

Hello dears,
Today, since it’s a lovely shiny Saturday, I’d like to present to you a collection of feather earrings that I made a while ago and which are very dear to me. American Indian culture is very inspiring to me for its symbols and their aproach to everyday life.
“Feathers mean a lot to Native American Tribes. A feather isn’t just something that falls out of a bird, it means much more. The feather symbolizes trust, honor, strength, wisdom, power, freedom and many more things. To be given one of these is to be hand picked out of the rest of the men in the tribe – it’s like getting a gift from a high official.
If any Indian is given Golden or Bald Eagle feathers it is one of the most rewarding items they can ever be handed. The Indians believe that eagles have a special connection with the heavens since they fly so close. Many Indians believe that if they are given this feather, it is a symbol from above. They believe that the eagle is the leader of all birds, because it flies as high as it does and sees better than all the birds.” (read more here)
May these earrings lift your spirit and bring you the soft breeze of freedom and communion with nature.

Jellyfish

Hi,
IMGP8740
Though this is not a paper bead necklace, I am very fond of it… it has the kind of vibration that a jellyfish has, who was, in this case, the inspiring muse.
The necklace is made of wood beads strung on leather cord, a big, turquoise wood bead, the shell of a hedgehog and many red leather threads decorated with small beige wood beads.
The length is adjustable.
It is available in Oranjerie, Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
And now I’ll leave you in the good company of Koop, the one guilty of this immersion into the deep…
